Sveta Grigorjeva (born 1988 in Tallinn) is an Estonian-Russian choreographer, dancer and poet. She graduated from University of Tallinn with a degree in choreography (MA). Currently she is studying MA in choreography at the University of Justus-Liebig in Giessen, Germany. Several of her dance productions have been nominated for or won prizes.
Grigorjeva´s first poetry collection “kes kardab sveta grigorjevat?” (who is afraid of sveta grigorjeva?” (2013) drew a wide attention in Estonia and defining the author as “a young angry woman”. The collection was voted as the best debutant of the year by the critics of cultural review “Vikerkaar”. Her second collection “american beauty” (2018) continues the harsh social and self-criticism. Grigorjeva is not afraid to make statements on actual issues also in the media and she can be seen as a bridgebuilder between Estonian and Russian speaking people in Estonia.
